How Care Works
Here's exactly what to expect at every stage — no surprises, nothing skipped.
30 minutes to an hour, completely free. Come in person for a full tour of the birth center, or meet virtually — whichever's easier. We'll walk through everything included in care, and just as importantly, what isn't, so there are no surprises later.
Once you're ready to move forward, we request records from your current provider to confirm you're a good fit for low-risk midwifery care. A retainer secures your place on the calendar — we only take a few clients each month by design, so it does fill up. From there, we schedule your first prenatal visit and send you access to your own chart.
Monthly visits until 28 weeks, every two weeks until 36 weeks, and weekly after that; with care centered around evidence-based decisions. There is full transparency. Each visit runs 30 minutes to an hour with no wait time, covering good nutrition and lifestyle choices, education, breastfeeding and labor prep, comfort measures, optimal fetal positioning, family involvement, and a full review of your labs and ultrasounds. Labs are drawn in-house; ultrasounds are by outside referral.
At the birth center or in your own home — water birth is available in both settings. We attend births between 37 and 42 weeks. We thoroughly monitor and assess mom and baby in the immediate postpartum period, with comprehensive instructions given at discharge.
Home visits on Day 1 and Day 7, a Day 3 check-in (virtual or in-home if needed), then follow-up visits at 2 weeks and 6 weeks in the office. This stage gets less attention almost everywhere else — here, it can be the most important, and it's built into the plan from day one.
Where every journey leads.
That's exactly what the free consultation is for — no pressure, just clarity on what care with us would actually look like.
